nah I’d rather we just remove all tping that was a idea I could get behind since it made things like trade routes and ships do stuff

This may not be related in anyway, sorry about that I just wanted to bring this idea back up to the surface again even if itis only for a weekend

I know this post was brought up from the grave, but its still valid, the people orientated around PVP are just awful, the map dousnt help since these types of people can track down and just kill anyone, its a shame we cant display just the player on the map.

maybe we should have a week without displaying people on the live map, then people cannot be hunted.

I think this problem isn’t just because of the PVPers (the ones doing the killing) but with the victims. The best way to counter a PVPer, is to always be prepared and be cautious. Whenever I’m out building, I’m always keeping an eye out for PVPers and always checking the live map (even before I had another computer to keep the map up.) However the majority of the active PVPers I’ve seen, do other things besides just kill people. For example, I build various things such as auto-farms, my villager farm and soon I’ll be working on a plantation and a new vault.

So like I said before, the people who keep getting killed, why not start working on god gear and some god apples? A single god apple and some ender pearls can save your life when you’re building. You may not be able to fight the PVPer, but the god apple will keep you alive while you flee. Not everyone came to this server to build sadly, and that’s a fact. : / While many came here because of the ships and to build, others came here for the PVP as well as building. Conflict makes things exciting on the server. Does anyone remember how boring it was for a while after both Outlaws and Lotus ended? PVPers are as necessary as builders. A pirate server needs it’s pirates.

Thing is, I’m not a die hard PvPer. I mean, I worry, since many of my prettier builds contain soft blocks. Not everyone wants to live in a stonebrick box amassing God gear, and while its anyone’s right to do that, I don’t feel like every base should be a box.

Always being on the defensive, checking livemap and teleporting around is just boring. Plus, invis potions are easy to make, and its not too difficult for someone to warp near you and then get the jump on you.

I’ve seen fantastic builds that don’t use soft blocks or they have them in safe spots. It’s really not difficult and no member of CoV that I know of that use stonebrick boxes. You shouldn’t blame someone else because you don’t want to play safe. Like I said before, a god apple, god gear and ender pearls can make it really easy to flee if you need to. You don’t need to be a die hard PVPer to play safe.

@Elexandre I see what your saying, but 90% of this server don’t even have 1 God Apple, some don’t even have ender pearls! I know you’d then counter it by saying, they could get one. They’re like 450 bucks. Then you’d say they can mine, well they can’t without getting killed 🙂 unless they’re gonna play when there’s only two people online, is there any point playing with people like you?

90% of the time I can mine without any trouble at all. Here’s a tip: Strip mine in light level 0 and you should be fine if you pay attention to your light levels. Plus there’s also the option of invisibility potions that you can easily make. (One gold ingot will make you a ton of potions.)

I’m talking about light levels, not Y levels. Mine in the dark and nobody will be able to see you on the live map. Also, a single god apple is rather easy to get. You need eight gold blocks, it’s not much.

And this is the point where we all forget that this post while interesting should stay as dead as it was a long time ago, before Tokugawan drama brought it back to life…

I’ve  gotta admit, PVP addicts shouldn’t drive people away, but actually start Tokugawan. Or just make mini forces to help beat people that they didn’t like! Except maybe they shouldn’t splat it all over forums. I don’t really care about PVP addicts until they kill me. But, I’m becoming self sufficient now and understanding what to do to make my own Mojang armor. People are always like “Awhhh, (player) is always taking God in to battles becuZ he has no skill bro!” No, they’re being strategic. There are differences between being annoying and being skilful, I only know a handful who are annoying.

How about whenever a person kills more than 2-4 times, they get a warning that if they kill again (in something like 2-5 minutes) they will get a potion effect which hinders their fighting.

I could see people moaning about having to defend their base whilst under siege by killing in a short space of time.

The thing which could happen could be that the defender, wouldn’t get the effect which negatively effects their fighting abilities.

This would help a defender in the long run as they could then have an easier time as most people who are raided are underprepared, not ready for the attack or just overall are over powered quickly, this way attackers may be more wary along with Pvpers who are on a killing spree as they know if they kill quickly different people in a short space of time, they will get a hindering effect which is their choice to continue.

This will also keep the attackers/Pvpers on their toes & possibly more reluctant to attack constantly as they know an effect will be put onto them which can give those who they are attacking help.

This will encourage them to be more tactical or quicker whenever they raid meaning if they raided you, they would have to get your things quickly, whilst avoiding you.

Yet people could find ways around it, it would then mean people who raid will be in groups to help support one another whenever they raid during the time when one or the other may become weaker.

This would stop one person from running amok in your base who is severely over powered & possibly unfriendly to everyone else & get some friends (xD).

This is just an idea but perhaps may even encourage boats to be used more with their cannons & things.
