Privateer

Privateer is a role we have talked about a lot in the past, a “helper role”. This role is primarily to help players who ask questions in chat, to help answer questions they have the ability to change their chat color. The other role of privateer is to help moderate chat, 90% of issues occur from people in chat getting frustrated for not understanding something or are having an argument that blows up out of proportion, being a light role this means we are able to quickly promote and demote privateers based on circumstances, this is also a nice stepping stone for finding moderation material.

Privateer Features

• inherits the quartermaster rank
• Has a colored username of &3 “DARK_AQUA”, their badge is grey unless they are a Donator where their donator badge will show.
• Is able to tempmute for up to 2 hours, this will show on the punishment tracker.
• Is able to Jail a player indefinitely and use all jails.
• Bypasses chat restrictions for dupe messages/commands.
• Is able to color their chat DARK_AQUA &3, or &c RED for when people refuse to listen.

At some point I want to give RearAdmirals the ability to promote/demote at will for this role so we can easily mange the helper team. I’m open to ideas for this role, I initially wanted a Helper channel, but that’s going to just confuse people, so a colored chat was the answer to standing out. I am open to talking out ideas for chat moderation permissions.

The two new commodore will be announced after they both log in for the first time, cheeky surprise.
