    Right, I just spent the last few days messing around trying to get this to work, and I think I finally got it.

    Follow up from this https://piratemc.com/topic/maintenance-server-down-while-i-copy-the-map/

    The map previously used its own built in webserver, this created the issue where it could only offer http traffic, and not have it as https, this was an issue meaning I couldn’t embed it into the website at https://piratemc.com/map as you can see, this is now fixed!

    • Moved the map to its own web-server, this removed the port number on the end, so its https://map.piratemc.com http should redirect to the https.
    • That link on the bottom right to link directly to a map page now works out the box, no having to copy the link by right clicking and using the map with the port number, click it and it’ll redirect to the actual zoom in level on the page for you to copy & paste that URL.
    • Fixed the map page at https://piratemc.com/map woo!
    • Hopefully will take some stress off the server as its running in a proper web-server now, the CPU use has already dropped, cant tell if its a coincidence or what just yet.
    • People being hidden on the maps changed, which is weird as I used the same values as before, either way I think we need to tweak those 2 variables:
      • hideifundercover: 4 (make player hidden when they are under cover (#=sky light level,0=underground,15=open to sky))
      • hideifshadow: 0 (make players hidden when they are inside/underground/in shadows (#=light level: 0=full shadow,15=sky))
      • hideifsneaking: true
    • Turned on “better grass” and “better snow” for when its rendering
    • Changed the way people are ordered in the right menu, it should hopefully list people in the correct order now, it seemed to not respect this before! (Just checked, its still not working as it should!)
    • That player sidebar is now pinned open by default, the first thing I do when I visit the map is click that to see whos online, you can toggle this by clicking that little pause button top right that turns to a cross when you hover over. if you don’t like the way this works then please do tell me and I can revert it if needed.

    What I still need to do

    Update the resource pack, were still using an ancient version of Dokucraft to render the map, when I tried updating it before it didn’t read the directory, im not sure if its tied to using the old format of texture packs, we will have to trial and error this one!

    well, long as theyre in full sunlight. hope that gets fixed soon, heh.
