People across the world are unable to join Minecraft servers at the moment. If you Google “Is Minecraft down?” you will see speculation of a major hacking and many comments/articles about people being unable to join servers. It’s not just PirateCraft. There is likely nothing within our power that can be done, so be patient with Mojang. Fell free to update this thread with current news as it is released.

Edit: Apparently a hacker/hacker group known as “HOICSquad” is responsible.

um sarap you missed the coversation the forum “server down for maintanace” aperently mojang is updating servers and crap its for the better the hole hack thing is a bunch of bs that players with no life made up :/

@Dr.Solid no, I did not miss that forum thread. Real news is more relevant than your forum thread. If the current situation was due to server updates/upgrades, there would have been official news of such from Mojang, but I have yet to see any. Everything is up in the air right now- at this point the general public doesn’t seem to know anything for sure. There are just different speculations.

Solid, sara is just saying that his sources (meaning global forums where informed people are involved) are more relevant then bunch of guesses of bored PirateCraft players. And that is good point.

Mojang status is evidence of authentication servers being down, not evidence of source of this downtime. But I agree on one thing: It is far more likely that this is technical issue then that this is an attack. Mojang auth servers have been down few times for entire evening before, and there were no scenes about the source of this downtime. There is no real evidence to support either idea, but statistically speaking, the technical issue is far more likely to be the case.
