I have been playing 1.8 on single player and I think it would be good especially with the ocean temples, because it would be giving a new challenge to everyone.

When 1.8 is released for the server side (Bukkit/Spigot) & when all plugins are updated, this could take months.

Also there is a issue with the world map I can’t say anything from the map.
