I like Vipers boat idea, maybe decrease vanilla boat speed as well as depth strider?
I love the idea of having to be dependent on my builded boats to cross the ocean.

About the merchants and trading, I have the best fucking idea ever, hear me out :
you know so the islands would have archipelagos and different general regions, right
For example this zone has good woodland and has a high animal reproduction rate so that’s the particularity of that place.
another place would be very barren and difficult to live in however there would be a lot of minerals
that would promote trade like idk what else omg this is gonna be amazing
Ooh ooh ooh also I want things for food
like, this sea has very good fishing, those islands are good for farming, that island is capable of supporting cows you know so there would be food markets and everythin
Btw I’m all for the no OP armor stuff, however no live map is bad because trust me nobody is going to find anyone’s base ever because people will hide underground and get their base never found and it’ll be terrible
and so I say that the live map stays the same, i myself am a pvper, and I’ll go out of my way to loot someone at the other side of the world
howevrr the live map should only update the blocks every 24hours so people don’t see a ship coming to loot them
So we could implement /siege with invisibility NOT allowed during siege and everyone would have mining fatigue III so everything doesn’t get torn down but attackers would have to maintain a couple people chipping down at a fortress wall whilst getting shot at by archers and everything
also cannons would break better to encourage using them instead but no intense griefing just like 6-7 blocks, a small explosion that would break blocks
and yeah also no infinity so arrows would be traded and it would be fun
no elytras
no shucker boxes
Have official ranks ( merchant, sailor, carpenter, etc ) that would have perk merchant getting extra doubloons booster (x1.2) or sailor boats would go faster and carpenters would be the only ones able to craft certain very specific things so people HAVE to trade

-No claims, to create constant up and downs, and always a way to bounce back. This would keep no one in power.
– No TP’s to enforce ships
– No water building, if we use the terrain land. This would keep oceans clean and easy travel, along with limited builds
– A compass idea. Say you want to get to an admin made and protected port. You right-click the compass, and it opens up a menu. With three choices, Port A. Port B. Port C. you click on one. and the compass points in the direction the port is (ex. North, South, ya know)
– Ocean Cleanup crew! Mods would check the ocean for blocks left over. I think that builds in the air or water could be a punishable offense . Just to eliminate it. @Godsdead , if you ever happen to start a world, I’d be more than happy to help create, landscape, or just about anything helpful.

I think this isn’t exactly the best idea, but it’s still up for debate. If there were absolutely no claims, people would just log in when others are offline to take everything the other person has, forcing people to create hidden underground bases which I feel like is something we wouldn’t want people to feel forced to do. Instead I think it would be nicer to see builds like ports, forts, and etc.
I recently looked up the factions plugin and it seemed pretty interesting by having it so by crew/faction power, you are able to rule an area(That has grief prevention but only in the area that you have control in), but I still thought that wasn’t good enough. I think a territorial takeover system like by raiding and being established in the area then only after that the territory would be considered your crew’s territory.
Pretty fun talking about these ideas and looking plugins up to help achieve this, it’s nice to see the community banding together to help create something = )

June 6, 2017 at 3:55 am #50803I would also consider removing pearls alongside depth strider and vanilla boats, they make boarding ships to flint and steel them way to easy.

November 28, 2017 at 3:04 am #55156gods can we have something diverse from pmc and have different sky cities with npc’s to trade with, ie i go from island to a where they sell wool for a cheap price then go to sky island b to sell that wool. bigger crews would control more islands but smaller crews control less. if there is a war going on you could siege it by staying in a siege cap and stay in there until the timer runs out. also no plugin cannons. it would give redstoners a chance. there could be diffrent types of airships. some could be trade ships. (80% wool, 6% chest 5% redstone and rest anything) or airskiffs. and for weapons we could do dispencers shooting firecharges and coal blocks as torpedos.

Trade idea is form about 4 years ago. Cant happen unless theres no teleport and no protection being able to protect land, therefor it needs its own server, not just a world.
The timed regions thing, you cant just shout out random things, it needs to be technically possible, again we would need a WHOLE NEW crew system that has built in land management, again a whole new server.

I think if having another server including the Survival server and hub server, there won’t be those times with so many people on, and there would be deals made between servers like, 100 bucks on the new server for 100 on regular survival. I think it would be too complicated and just 1 server would be nice 😛

November 29, 2017 at 3:29 pm #55184I like the idea of a new server, but if we are making another one its has to be different somehow otherwise its basically just the same thing and its just a waste of time.
Some ideas I’ve heard on this forum thread that I like are:
No Teleportation, this would promote trade and transport of resources. This would also increase the use of player built ships since then you would need to sometimes transport large amount of resources from place to place and those small vanilla boats though faster can only transport whats in your inventory. Thus no teleportation is a really good idea.
Maps based off of real world places, like a map of the Caribbean (which would be much better if it was a map of the Caribbean plus surrounding land areas like central america, Florida and keys, and northern parts of south america to have more land areas). It is also possible that we could have a world map, although finding a close to 1:1 scale for that would be difficult. Oh yea for maps like the Caribbean, a map that was close to real size would be best since it would be annoying if it was not close to same size because then some islands would be to small to put towns on.
No Dynmap, this idea I’ve heard about and I think in general its a good idea since it would promote exploring and maps. Now of course you could say if we had a real world map then you just need google maps but here is the thing, you wouldn’t know where people or towns are since players will be able to set up towns and forts wherever thus even with a real world map in place you would still need exploring and maps. Which would be fun since then maps would be worth something.
Island Map, going with the stuff about maps, if we do not use a real world map like the Caribbean or such, having a map that is mostly islands and not large continents would be cool.
Towns/Cities and claims stuff, decided to put this as one point, because I’ve seen a lot about this. Now the idea I think would be best is if people can make towns and like the size of the town leads to more and more NPCs spawning in or such in the town area. And its more special NPCs who can like trade and sell stuff and who knows maybe other things to. And towns can get attacked and burned down and NPCs killed. Now maybe this isn’t a great idea and there is better ideas as to how player built towns can work but I still want the idea of player built towns but what would be better is if the towns where more fluent like they can be taken over and attacked and such.
Cannons (must keep), ok I heard someone say that we should not have cannons, all ill say is NO. We NEED cannons or at least something like cannons because without cannons it greatly limits battles via ships and forts and such.
There may be stuff I missed while reading through the chat but that is what I think is good.

No Teleportation, increases the use of player built ships since only player built ships can transport large amounts of resources.
No Dynmap, increases the use of exploration and maps which is good.
Real World Map, if people want to use a real world map what would be good is finding a real life map that is close to 1:1 scale of the Caribbean and surrounding areas to have more land and area to fight and do stuff over. Another possibility is a somewhat close to 1:1 scale of a world map.
Island Map, if no real world map, then lets do an island map to increase the use of ships like a Caribbean map would.
Towns/Cities Stuff, players should be able to build towns that at certain limits or something NPCs start spawning that can sell/buy stuff. Towns must be able to be attacked/taken over by people and such. *one edit to the towns/cities stuff ill say and this time I have it copied so I don’t lose everything, but I think a better way towards towns/cities may just to do what I believe is Bislo’s idea of have the admins claim the entire world and you buy certain areas to build towns. As for NPCs buying and selling that would be cool but I don’t know of any plugins possibly to do such.*

I don’t know if its just a glitch on my view on the forum or something but this has happened another time before where I submit a post and then I add an edit and then repost it, it just kills itself from the forum. AGAIN This isn’t something we can do the the CURRENT survival server, it would be a ** WHOLE NEW SERVER **. There is no way to change ALL these things on the current survival server, it would literally need to start fresh. THESE are the exact settings I have planned already 2/3 years ago for a second survival server.
Nothing said here is anything new, nothing is a new idea.
@TheAgentGamer Everthing you said has already been planned and thought out and discussed in detail for a second server. Literally in the inital main post I TOLD YOU NOT TO TAKE THE CONVERSATION THIS WAY. This post is talking about adding a second world to the current survival as I said in the main post already. Ruined this.Im just closing this.
