We have custom death messages now!
We can make lists which one will be picked at random based on how you died, PVP via a wooden sword for example, or if you are killed by lighting, killed by a mob etc! Any way you can think of dying I’m sure is covered.
If its PVP related you can pick an item you are killed by.
This forum thread is open to any suggestions or ideas for death messages for a specific death! So post them! we can have infinite, bonus points for piratey ones!
Killed by Firework Explosion: Player did not read the 1.11.2 changelog. Killed by Paper: Player got a bad paper cut. Killed by Llama: Player was in for the spit.

I’ve listed someways pirate slang could be incorporated into death messages below, if you like the look of one of them, please expand them into a proper death message. To blow a man down is slang for killing, perhaps this could be for whenever someone is killed and no other death messages override it, the default pvp death message? Personally, I love the term “to dance the hempen jig” (to be hanged) but, sadly’ I’m not sure which type of death would fit it. Perhaps fall damage? A rather obvious idea for drowning would be visiting Davy Jone’s Locker. Another option for pvp deaths would be “Object was given no quarter!”, which, to me, seems better than “Object was blown down” Perhaps “Object shall hornswaggle (cheat) no more”? Again, I’m not sure which death would suit it best, but it has a ring to it. A default death message could be “The Ship Bell rings for Object.” And, finally, the default “Object died” message could be replaced by “Object is feeding the fishes!”
Added a bunch of these!
So and so became cannon fodder… Just returned from spring break. Give me some time to gather my wits and you should find a list of messages. It’s good to be back

Death from lava: (Player name) drowned in a hot tub. Death from cactus: (player name) hugged a cactus.
These are both already the death messages haha

[killer’s] rapier cut [victim] down to size. [victim] met their fate at [killer]’s hand. [victim] was struck down, drawn and quartered. [victim] has yo-ho-hoed their last after encountering [killer]. [killer] gave [victim] no quarter. Bow: [victim] took [killer]’s shot square in the chest. [victim] was killed by [killer]’s well-aimed shot. [victim] took an arrow in the knee. [victim] was mown down in a hail of projectiles. Drowning: [victim] went down with their ship. [victim] was taken by the tide. [victim] met leviathan. [victim] was keelhauled. [victim]’s vessel was scuppered on the high seas. [victim] lost their sea legs. [victim] was sunk. [victim] was used as shark bait. [victim] walked the plank. [victim] was lost overboard. Explosion: [victim] was blown to smithereens. [victim] went out with a bang. [victim] was fatally wounded in an explosion. [victim]’s remains plaster the deck. [victim] suffered fire in the hole. Poison: [victim] was taken by seasickness.
these are fantastic! i added them all, bar poison that cant kill you!
