I hae been building a shop very close to warp north, a non – player controlled warp. The warp begins in a castle area but the player can quickly reach the wilderness. It is here that this shop is built. I just want to make sure, before I stock it, that no staffmembers have any problems with this. I had thought the problem with the old shop warps was that they where controlled by players and no longer available for public purchase so an unfair advantage, though the problem may be with shops at warps entirely. If this is the case then I'd like the chance to salvage all my materials before it is torn down so could a staffmember let me know if this is alright? Thanks.

I explicitly told you the staff general consensus when talking about shops near warps and how they are not allowed to be built near any of them. Is my word not valid enough for you as a staff member?

March 30, 2016 at 8:59 am #31614I just wanted to be sure of all details, you told me this was at risk of being taken down and that admins where not happy about it as it was too close – I was hoping that I would be told the limit we can have shops near and possibly the reason this is not allowed. I also liked the idea of having a publicised version of this so that people can see and not make the same mistake, as I have not seen anything previously that this is not allowed (if there is in fact something saying this then I must have missed it and apologise). I didnt want anyone to go about building a shop only to be told this is not allowed.
This was nothing to do with the valditiy of your word as a staff member, but I posted for the reasons above. I'm sorry if it looked that way Dag.

March 30, 2016 at 9:10 pm #31645Dagersh is correct. He is staff, and as such can answer your questions in-game. Asking again on the forums would *normally* be inappropriate.
However, It seems as your title “Can I make a shop near a warp?” is misleading, as it sounds like you really just want clarification of the rules… So to clarify dagersh’s original response on player run shops…
SHOPS:
Just don’t build them right now…. anywhere. The plans for player-run shops will be implemented as soon as we are smoothly running on 1.9. You may trade player-to-player for now in /warp cove, /warp meet, /warp ships, etc.That being said, you may still use and create buy/sell signs in your own existing bases provided they are many hundreds of blocks away from any existing warp.
And of course the obligatory Why?
We do not want another player-run “market” renting stalls/shops to other players. Nor do we want people centralizing a bunch of player owned shops elsewhere. We are going to provide an answer for this, just not until 1.9 is finished. GodsDead is working daily on making the 1.9 transition smooth, painless, and above-all safe from potentially abusive new game mechanics.
