I have an idea for an awesome new warp that would bring a lot to the server but before buying it… I want to ask if player bought warps can be set up to take money from the players that visit the warp. I noticed that the NESW warps and the nether + end warps all take money from the players account so is it possible to have a warp that charges a fee and sends the money to the owner of the warps balance? (I want to set up a warp that is available to players with cash to spend in order to have access to nice things like free diamond gear/enchanted stuff chests/ ways to get valuable resources)

February 19, 2015 at 10:05 pm #9267What if it was a super cheap fee that was totally worth it for other players? I.e. players could warp for $1 (or higher) and would have access to a ton of villager trades that allow them to trade for emeralds which they could sell at other shops?

February 20, 2015 at 3:05 am #9279I think this should only be available to people who have freebie towns. For instance a roller coaster park, a xp farm area with multiple xp farms, etc. It should only be awarded to things that are completely free, no shops should be able to use this.
For instance a theme park could ‘charge for admission’, or a zoo, etc. But I don’t think this should be available for places that already make money.
February 20, 2015 at 12:15 pm #9287I realized. You don’t need a paying warp.
You need a paying door system (and maybe a removable lava floor to avoid people setting home). All of that will be easily possible with the new shop plugin and I’d be glad to help 🙂
That way, you could have someone unlock the villagers for a minecraft day.
February 20, 2015 at 3:27 pm #9289I don’t think any shop would become a paying warp.. it would be kinda stupid, since less people would visit, thus less profit gained from sold goods?

February 20, 2015 at 3:56 pm #9295@Bislo we are not talking about shops and more talking about admission fees to places like zoos, roller coaster parks, access to 50+ villagers and their op trades or access to xp/gold farms.
@GodsDead would you make warps that cost a small token fee to players so they will have access to things that are worth the fee?@Ma_c_hi you will need to help me set it up 🙂 I have had an idea like this for a while but I have been thinking that I can’t charge fees with teh current trading plugin for opening up redstone activated doors to a place or otherwise.

February 20, 2015 at 4:34 pm #9307azure was just talking about shops and that they should not be able to add payable warps, so i just said; i dont think they want to have that.. but idk, maybe im wrong 😀

February 20, 2015 at 7:59 pm #9336Nope, we cannot have a way of making money that’s limited to 1 player.
February 20, 2015 at 8:51 pm #9340Then what does @Ma_c_hi mean about the new shop plugin somehow allowing that?

February 21, 2015 at 12:04 am #9356The new shop plugin (signshop 2) should allow players to “pay for redstone” (if players abuse it, this kind of signs may be disabled btw).
That would allow you to make an area only accessible after paying the amount you choose.
Add a moving bridge as floor with lava underneath and a redstone clock and you’ll be able to have a place people pay to use for a few minutes with no risk of /sethome (as the floor is lava when no one paid recently).Once that place is built, free to you to donate for a warp in front of the entrance.
My idea have nothing to do with a paying warp but may be a solution for your problem 🙂
