For the whole shield idea, I’d like to look more in-depth at the term people often use to describe pirates: Swashbuckler.
More specifically, I’d like to look further in depth at each part of the word.
‘Swash’ is derived from the sound a sword makes as it is travelling through the air.
‘Buckler’ pertains to a type of small, often metallic, shield (see picture below). I think, therefore, that a buckler would be appropriate to use as a shield in such a resource pack.

March 2, 2017 at 12:42 am #47801I am already working on sounds, and i can say that is the most stressful thing to do in a resourcepack.. but at the end, it will be awersome! Also i’m taking pieces from other resourcepacks, like all blocks from the pixel perfection resourcepack and some sounds effects from others.
So plese continue giving us great ideas like Browe_’s ones, to help us!

– I’ve personally painted the models for a musket, a flintlock pistol and also a blunderbuss, we’re going to replace the bow with a musket in the alpha version of the resourcepack, and later with horse’s armors when working guns were added. When guns will be added, we will replace the bow with a slingshot instead.
– M4RT3S created some awersome axes, and he’s now working on the shield
– I’m also trying to modify the sounds, but isn’t easy, and it can take a bit of time.. but i’m trying to add more realistic sounds, pirates-like musics, and some treats for you guys, on the music discs.
– I also made a Lang pack, to have custom names on our items and mobs.. for example, the zombie is now called “Undead Pirate”, and the bow is now named “Musket”.
Thanks for your support, and sorry if i make some mistakes writing, because my keyboard is nearly broken, and I’m Italian, you know ?.
I hope you guys will enjoy our work, and i also recommend you to check the “Pixel Perfection” resourcepack, because we’re basing on that kind of style 🙂

(They’re all original and made by me, exept for the blunderbuss that is from the balkon’s weapons mod, and i just recoloured it)

It’s also got an issue tracker to track issues, and even offer a release section so we can have versioned releases, I can lead this if you want? I’ll create the repo.

But for now, i’ll send updates here.. for the ones who don’t uses github.
Also a test version of the resourcepack(no modified blocks, and guis and with a lot of unfinished stuff) will be released soon.
I also found an issue: as i said before, i replaced the bow with a musket, and i also changed the bow shooting sound with an explosion, but now when you trow a potion or a snowball or use a fishing rod it makes the same sound. This is just until we can get plugin’s guns, is that ok for you guys?

A 16x Test-Version of the pack is coming out very soon, with the same blocks of the Pixel Perfection, and some custom items like the bow and the arrows.
We also modified zombies, axes, water, bats and other stuff.. and we made a custom lang pack!! So we can modify the names of the items, the blocks.. and everything that has a name!
M4RT3S is working on the 32x, and I am currently working on a logo, but I’m a little out of ideas, any advices?
