<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>Islands are really important on PirateCraft, they are Ports, Forts, settlements, trading areas and more.</span>
I have looked at the live map and found many Islands which have been built on but have been blown apart.
Here is what I want to discuss.
Some people build on these islands, claim parts of them, get destroyed or raided and NEVER come back.
I find this just a waste of time and of a small piece of landmass for chunks (I was going to put miles).
I was wondering if people have left their islands or claims for a long time and if there is ruin on that islands.
Here is what I propose; clear all the islands of rubbish, claims and whatever IF the owner hasn’t been on for over a month if they haven’t stated their reason or whatever for leaving for such a long time.
So maybe if you could think about it or maybe tweak a couple of things to do with this suggestion, I think those of us who have found an island but it’s been claimed and not used could it be removed and if destroyed, repaired.
Thanks as ever.

Word is that after 3 months, claims can be removed if for a legitimate reason, but not simply to loot/take personal advantage of the contents of the claim. I’d support an automated claim deletion, but I don’t see it happening honestly. If we’re thinking long term here, I believe a more lax claim deletion policy would mean having much more time until our world needed a reset. Items, structures, ships, farms, and many more belongings of long-gone players lay trapped in claims many months old- unable to be touched by anyone. In theory, item circulation will become critical to making our limited world go round. Otherwise, players with tons of worth (whether in items, money, ships, land, etc) have already, and will, eventually quit and remove a substantial chunk of PirateCraft’s resources with them. Some type of circulation of these inactive items/structures/lands would go a long way, in my humble opinion. Abandoned islands are but a small part of the overall potential problem. Even if the day of critically limited items/land is very far off, it never hurts to think ahead. Just throwing some honest thought out here for consideration. Thanks.
