Maybe a new addition to PirateCraft's plugins?

I was mistaken for a mod for the 2nd time today but the deckhands actuallys gave me some good ideas! I have played on many different servers over the years and seeing as how PirateCraft already has signshops and a lottery… Maybe we could add an auction plugin too? To auction items right on the spot. From my experience, whenever a good auction goes on, it can revive a completely silent and inactive server. Players all want a chance to bid for that super golden apple or that prot 4 armor and stuff. Does anyone else think maybe adding auctions as another way to get money is a good idea?

I find it often makes chat unreadable. But, it would be good to stimulate activity!

Few reasons why I don’t like auction plugins
- Destroys chat
- Items “teleport” across the map, People should go meet at /warps /spawn
- We already have a shops system, which will improve soon.
- This opens up a new method to “game the system”

@GodsDead How about the Item doesn’t teleport? To start an auction, you must put your item in a chest at cove. Whoever wins the auction can then go to cove and get the item. The main problem I guess would be to keep others from taking it, maybe make it so only a certain person can open the chest. Also make it so there are multiple chests for people to have some time to get the item.

@Riptide no auction plugins i know of do that, and those auction plugins can be complicated. I side with @GodsDead.

we have discussed auctions in the past, decide they were messy and didnt goi ahead, there is nothing stopping you having an auction via chat tho, and all you do it telpeort the winner to yourself for collection of said item

@Jon Yup I have held approximately 20 /me auctions and both have turned out pretty sucessful. Some other people ahve done it too. It gives players a way to put items on the market that can’t be put into trade signs (i.e. enchanted books, tools, weapons etc) or rare items (player heads/horse eggs)

ad 1.
There are auction plugins which include toggle to disable any auction chat messages. This toggle is unavaliable when someone auctions things at public chat or using /me

ad 2.
As long as people can teleport, items can as well so auction plugin wouldnt really change that much, it would only prevent dorkito, crabriel or king_cobra_c from killing people at cove and getting goodies being traded.
