I have spawn locations for each rank, these are all very basic at present, how could each spawn location be improved?
/spawn
Each /spawn is different for each rank.
- Do we need to move any?
- Do you use /spawn?
- What would be a good feature of a rank spawn location? For example, the area could be that rank only, and no other rank would be allowed in there.
- What unique features could each rank spawn have?
Server warps
We have a lot of server warps, including paid /warp north, /warp east, /wrap south and /warp west
- /warp east and /warp south have nothing at them, what could be built at these places, and does anyone want to build and take these over (No shops will be allowed at all here)
- /warp east is planned to be another main spawn, it needs finishing off, signs added, we have an entire island that’s disposable for it, When you first started, what kind of things would have helped you if they were built at spawn? A demo of working ships? A demo of GriefPrevention? what other ideas do you have for that island at /warp east
- Are the /warp nesw points still at a valuable price, do you use these warps? should the price be changed? Or do we change the way these work and set a cooldown? Do we remove these command based warps all together and have warp locations from the cove?
- /warp north is a small town with no purpose, what could it be used for/as? It needs work, expanding, would anyone want to take this over as a project to build here, again no shops would be allowed, no safe rooms etc since it would be siege proof.
September 12, 2015 at 3:54 pm #21199Well maybe there could be ‘training’ boats for deckhands.
They could just be simple little boats in 20×20 pens and they have the helm (turning), release and connect to boats.
There could be signs on the side which could ask them to go through a sort of ‘tutorial’ stage where they do different things.
e.g. different controls and their explanations, how to turn it (some don’t realise that you have to do it with an empty hand) etc.
This could possibly be a part of the rank up stage and it could help them feel more motivated to possibly donate or carry on playing.
this could possibly be a warp.
the sign command for them should only be able to be made with tutorial purposes by staff and it could beĀ demo or trial boat something along the lines of that.
If you would like me to post some pictures of what it could possibly look like and the basic layout that would be fine and also if you would rather someone else could make it and if you would I would be happy to and if you don’t like it you could just edit it to your preference.

One issue: Players that just abandon the ships, It would need to be reset, There could be a button to re-paste the schematic of the area, this could be abused though, someone could press it when the player is in the boat, causing all kinds of issues. The area could also be made deckhand only, so other players couldn’t mess with its mechanics. But we need a technical method to reset the training area.
September 12, 2015 at 10:18 pm #21217i believe that the spawns for carpenter-gunner at least need to be removed from the cove, since there is a /warp cove, and its kinda wierd to have 2 cove warps. maybe like in separate houses throughout the world?

September 12, 2015 at 11:35 pm #21219I heard somewhere on the web that you can make a ship move using command blocks. If this is the case, could you create a working ships demo at one of the warps? I remember a while back I made a warp for an ocean based warp, I think this is the link…

why not make it so the area automatically resets every 5-10 minutes, so training could be scheduled. When the area is resetting, it could teleport all players to spawn/the nearest warp.
Alternatively, you could create another new rank (it’s a long shot, I know) called ”Trainer” who would have permissions to use a reset button on the area. The rank would basically give the player the same kits as Captain would, but also give them a Trainer kit, which contains a golden hoe.
It would also be a great time to make cannons the Deckhands could play around with, with a dispenser of some sort giving them different ammunitions to try.
This would most definitely reduce the amount of people that spam ”How do I make a ship?” or ”Do the ships actually sail?” etc.
September 13, 2015 at 8:33 pm #21231Sounds like were getting closer, I just thought of something, ships will be made to cruise for normal speeds, and use the current click to move system only for small maneuvers, so we will need some space if they are going to test out cruising, the ship will have to be very limited, and a gold hoe! I forgot they will need this. I wonder if I can get worldguard to remove items when you leave an area?

I would love the opportunity to help build a town or expand/ repair existing towns at one of the existing warps I have been working on my own town at live map co ords 3791.65.1673
the place includes a stable,blacksmiths,enchanting/potion/portal building,main hall,3 shops,9 rent able homes with vaults and many plots set out for people to build homes shops etc. I would love too be considered for some of the above building tasks if my builds are good enough. feel free to come for a tour when im on line . I originally built it for a place for new players to start where everything is available also I was going to op for a warp just before they was taken off had the cash ready too lol. anyway thanks for taking time to read this __DarkLight__September 18, 2015 at 1:51 pm #21377Alright.

I have a question about this thread. Are these things still needed? If so, I’d like to take over one of the warpsĀ and make a cool build at it. I was originally thinking something like a stonehedge and the player would spawn in the middle of the circle but I might come up with another idea after taking another look at the different warps. The one I was thinking though was /warp south or /warp east because those are the only ones without any sort of interesting build at them.

Sounds good to me Wilson, No shops or anything to benefit yourself though! Its entire an aesthetic drop off mini spawn location š
I do need to finish that moat too.. I fixed the bridge today, it all works with redstone and the gate.
All other NESW warps are open to builders to make tiny spawns š
