Due to the amount of unnecessary events I see in war I have made list of laws that peace
1. No attacking of people or buildings that aren’t doing anything to support the war cause.
2. No unnecessary damage shall be done to cities or landscapes.
3. Unconditional surrender is only accepted when the crew or country is so badly damaged that it can no longer fight.
4. When a country surrenders it must accept the requirements that victor sets up.
5. The victors requirements must make sense and be fair.
6. When the war ends each country must pay for the damage done to property that they did to each other.
7. War must be declared for a justifiable cause.
8. Just cause is not a justifiable cause
9. Supporting the war effort is in anyway supplying the country with military supplies or supplies that will be used for military structures. If you are just supplying supplies to rebuild or repair non-aggressive structures or structures that were already previously built to protect cities it will not be counted as supporting the war effort.
10. Unless if absolutely necessary war may not be used to dissolve a crew.
11. Laws of war only apply to crew or countries who have accepted them.
12. If a crew or country that has accepted the terms of these laws disobeys them then they will be charged for war crimes.
13. A peace agreement is not surrendering.
14. Charges for war crimes will be decided in War Court.
Entarian Alliance approved and accepted!

January 30, 2016 at 6:04 pm #28635I agree with most of that, but I doubt many will stick or enforce this, making it the law “Laws only apply to countries that accept the laws” obsolete in itself.
Nice idea though, and i defiantly see why KingRS liked it.

@XeronJanuary 30, 2016 at 6:04 pm #286361. No attacking of people or buildings that aren’t doing anything to support the war cause.
2. No unnecessary damage shall be done to cities or landscapes. Are sensible. I would support mitigating damage in any war situation.
3. Unconditional surrender is only accepted when the crew or country is so badly damaged that it can no longer fight.
So that means claiming a crew is defeated is only possible when they can no longer fight? Or have I understood it wrong?
4. When a country surrenders it must accept the requirements that victor sets up.
Well, peace can’t be declared unless the both sides are in favour, so this kind of speaks for itself.
5. The victors requirements must make sense and be fair.
Define “make sense” and “fair”. I’d wager everybody has a different opinion on what they mean.
6. When the war ends each country must pay for the damage done to property that they did to each other.
Hah, I just did $89.5 worth of damage to that mud hut and $45 damage to the surrounding landscape by using cannons. I’d better make an excel table to keep track of this war so I can give all that money to my hated enemy when it’s over! I simply can’t wait to be rid of my balance. Maybe that hostile raider can attack me again tomorrow using my very own cash. War is soooo fun!
7. War must be declared for a justifiable cause.
Same problem as 5. What makes a casus belli justifiable?
8. Just cause is not a justifiable cause
So being greedy or having a desire for conquest is not a justifiable cause?
9. Supporting the war effort is in anyway supplying the country with military supplies or supplies that will be used for military structures. If you are just supplying supplies to rebuild or repair non-structures or structures that were already previously built to protect cities it will not be counted as supporting the war effort.
Needed to read that twice, makes sense.
10. Unless if absolutely necessary war may not be used to dissolve a crew.
What other way is there to dissolve a crew aside from betraying the crew you’re in? This point kinda contradicts itself, as it is absolutely necessary to wage war to dissolve a crew. Though it’s rarely been accomplished before.
11. Laws of war only apply to crew or countries who have accepted them.
Well, this is a true statement.
12. If a crew or country that has accepted the terms of these laws disobeys them then following the laws of war is no longer necessary when attacking them.
One false move and the laws are out of the window? Eye for an eye.
13. A peace agreement is not surrendering.
Well, this is a true statement.

January 30, 2016 at 7:01 pm #28641This is great and all but how does it account for pirate crews? Wars between empires are rare as it is but Pirate crews are seemingly dominating the server then the empires and dont follow specific guidelines in combat.
Punching baby seals since before it was fun.
January 30, 2016 at 7:40 pm #28647Hmm there are flaws in this I will fix them later when it is set up.
