Being a pirate server there is some raiding/looting and fighting to be expected. I’ve always been on the side that this is to be expected as part of this server. Today I learned that some of you don’t understand what it means to take things too far.
This level of destruction to someone’s base is just not worthy of us. There is no reason I can find that makes this acceptable, more to the point it’s reprehensible. If you want to steal all their loot, great. Blow up some dirt with cannons, awesome. Sail their ship off and scuttle it in the ocean, fine. What is not OK in my book is deliberately causing someone days/weeks worth of work to restore the damage you’ve caused ‘just for fun’.
I don’t find it the least bit amusing, funny, or tolerable. Be a pirate all you want, but if you want to be a jerk, do it somewhere else.

Raise your glasses, raise them high. Draw your swords, stand or die!
May 17, 2016 at 5:00 am #34769One lesson for all: Do not give anyone trust to your claims.
May 17, 2016 at 6:24 am #34771At least every town I’ve ever built is worse than that, nevertheless that is pretty bad, I have no idea how their gonna repair that!

May 17, 2016 at 7:24 am #34772Unfortunately, as everyone keeps saying, it’s the norm. Even if the loot is covered, everyone will do what they can to wreck the rest of the base. In theory, it makes sense, as it means your enemy is no longer capable of attacking you or defending himself, but it is all too often harsh and unnecessary.
May 17, 2016 at 8:04 am #34774welp, the only person I know who has trust to fallingstar’s base is Falling, DCrebel, and I.
I only had trust so I could kill DCrebel, he’s definitely done this, as I’m too lazy to walk to falling_star’s base. He’s been annoying many people at around 5-8pm (AUS)
Ironic

May 17, 2016 at 9:49 am #34779When I look at this I can see it from both the eyes of a pirate and the eyes of one who has had it happen to himself.
First from the pirate perspective. If either Solis or CoV got perms on the others home base because we had decided to trust the wrong person. What do you think would happen? World war three with less radiation most likely. However from the view point of someone who had this happen and lost 6 ships to tnt because of it I would say that nothing like this should ever be done while the person is offline. If the person does not have the ability to kick the persons trust while they are doing it then it most certainly is not fair game. Of course those are just my own morals there and are of course always up for debate.Raise your glasses, raise them high. Draw your swords, stand or die!
May 17, 2016 at 1:20 pm #34796This isn’t something new, This is failure in trust in another player, if you have your doubts Sub claim! if you have even more doubts then give them container trust or access trust. We have sub-claiming we can all use. Giving someone full /trust, I mean come on its written in the command, its called TRUST!
It looks repairable, evenings work. i’m not going to deny its a dick move, but we have had worse and it is a good thing to point out. but im not going to police people that get griefed for trusting a dirty pirate.
End of the story is, whoever did this isn’t going to ever be trusted by anyone else ever on the server again, and they will have definitely lost allies and staff respect.
May 17, 2016 at 9:59 pm #34816*Waits for the naming & shaming to begin*
I’m sorry to say this, but for thick people like me who are complete imbeciles (sorry had to describe myself like that), could a guide be written up for sub claims?
Or if there is one already, step by step, ‘for dummies’ guides would be great.
-off topic, I’ve found it hard recently also to find information on making chest shops, speaking to many people, until finally, MC shovel hit home & solved the Da Vinci Code, on how to select chests to sell a certain amount instead of all you put it.
Bad wording I know, but I think if problems with such step by step guides with not enough in-depth detail or ‘highlighted’ points is a problem, which if solved could make staff jobs a whole load easier & whatever.
Infact, I wouldn’t mind writing a couple ‘do it yourself’ guides…
May 17, 2016 at 10:15 pm #34817This is probably not the place to discuss tutorials; however, there are numerous guides here. See the link called “Guides” at the top of this page. Video tutorials are embeded/linked there as well.
The best bet is a quick Search on google for videos:
Google “GriefPrevention Subclaim”
https://www.google.com/#q=griefprevention+subclaim&tbm=vidSignShop got you down, Google it:

- Bill GatesMay 17, 2016 at 11:33 pm #34824Stand in your claim holding a golden shovel and do /sc
This stands for sub claim.
Then you mark it out.
Its the exact same as a normal claim, except its got to be inside an existing claim.
