The wiki has a lot of power allowing any players to edit and create pages and content, I feel as if it’s under used, there’s a few exceptions such as the BE incredible crew page. Does anyone have any ideas for a way to bring this more into gameplay/website?
November 23, 2015 at 1:11 am #23941I spent an entire hour reading all the backstory of the wars maybe a server competition? I don’t mean people writing descriptions for there themselves but maybe their crew and collaborations forming the history of the server. The CoV/Delta war, The new war with Elves and Verussia, the banning of players and its effects. There could be a prize such as a sword called “mighty pen”? just shootin ideas but I wish I had an incentive to write.

November 23, 2015 at 7:47 am #23948Hm, if we actually did a proper set of maps, that would be cool, but if you wanted to bring it more in game, Competitions?
Maybe, upon receiving town status, you get a beacon and/or other loot, but you must have a decent wiki page first? Loot and Comps are the best way to bring to two closer in my mind.
November 23, 2015 at 9:13 am #23949The best thing about the Wiki is that it does track whos been posting content and gives the user a “power” rating based on their content created, so we could give out rewards for keeping a history.
The idea behind it was that it is entirely a Community created version of the website with much more in-depth content, the history was key for me really, I think that’s amazing people keep logs of whats happened and @dagersh im glad people actually read it!
I was also considering people could write about different types of traps you can build, techniques for surviving, you could create treaties or anything!
November 23, 2015 at 4:26 pm #23973Godz just a suggestion but could you possibly make the command “/wiki” just like “/map” take you to the wiki page? also the wiki needs more hyperlinks I find just as a note to the wiki people although the wiki pages that are done so far are fantastic 😛

This is the exact kind of reply im looking for! Yes I’ll do that.
November 23, 2015 at 7:53 pm #23977I tend to be pretty active on the wiki.
I’ve made plenty of topics, edited certain pages & written up quite a lot of the main topics & new topic ‘pages’.
I recently have added more to The Allied page so if people look at that they can see history of some of the wars, it also includes all the members of The Allied, SO WATCH OUT!!
I do believe people should be encouraged also to put information on their crew also & for people to put information in where it’s needed i.e. certain places, people & other things need filling in where other people don’t know enough about them to put something useful.
Also I think if we give rewards to people (we will need some way of knowing who has edited something to such an extent that it is worth a reward) who write a lot about their nation or settlement or history or information about other people.
A new rank even could be created for people who make valuable contributions to the wiki, filling in information where it’s needed, adding new important information, keeping things up to date.
The Wiki actually is pretty cool & an awesome Archive for all the server’s nooks & crannies!
November 23, 2015 at 11:58 pm #23999oh like an archivest rank in chat?
I dont know if its my place but id gladly make the story of some of my old crews and battles

November 24, 2015 at 12:35 am #24003November 24, 2015 at 12:53 am #24004The wiki does need more links. I’ve created tons of redirect pages to aid in navigation and there’s always something to update. Large crews are fairly well represented. What isn’t being documented are all the exciting events and battles!
I have created a new page called “History and Events“. Here players can make a list of things that happened on the server every month. I was going to do a graphical chart, but the formatting is complicated and like this the page is accessible to everyone.
Where is that “power” rating visible? I can’t see it anywhere! 😮
November 24, 2015 at 9:09 am #24035Would it be possible to allow wiki links to be used in public chat? That could be a good way to help out newbies without spending time messaging them and explaining to them how the server works.
You’re not the first to think of this, ive wanted piratemc.com links to work in chat, but atm the plugins only allow all links or none at all, very bad design.
November 24, 2015 at 7:52 pm #24075yea whenever someone tags the wiki into the forum post, i then spend 10 mins reading about wars that happened before i came on the server :3

November 27, 2015 at 5:28 pm #24233@dagersh I was thinking the same thing with a rank maybe called archivist!
But I thought it sounded cheesy so I didn’t put it into my post.
