Does it really need to be explained why a system where one or more people, most likely with no military backing, being in some sort of supreme control over all other players on the server would not work at all?

Well, for those of you who don’t already see the issue; the main problem would be with uncooperative people such as myself. Basically, if some person, lets use Texter in this example(god forbid) told me that I had to do something because he/she was president, my first reaction would probably be along the lines of “How about you come over here and make me.” And if they continued to go around telling people what to do, I would likely decide to spend a decent amount of time running my sword through them.

Until you can consistently beat the pirates(which probably wont happen for quite some time) you will be unable to make significant progress in areas such as trade, and diplomacy due to the simple fact that the people who make the laws are the ones who have the most military power.

The upkeep of roads and a real delivery service would be an interesting idea… The Panda Postal Service! 😛

you must really ask yourself what would a President do in this server. he will have NO authority at all. the President is Godsdead as he owns the serves.

Like Ven said, people wouldn’t give authority. I know I wouldn’t, I’d be a rebel and troll the president just cuz. Maybe the president could just be for show and not really do anything… kinda like England’s royal family.

I mean as my role as Queen I must understand it is not just me in charge over the entire thing. That I must make sure power is equally divided.

Which is why we assign positions and there are other King and queens of the other 2 factions (High Elves not established yet) but woodland and dark elves of course.

I like the talk of power division though, I mean our government style is Monarchy but we must come to our senses and see we will not always be in power! Which is why we must have children or adopt so the EE continues when we may not be there.

My son (Xaniclos) is the Woodland King but I myself am the Woodland queen now now, before you get ahead of yourself no we’re not married…I’m High Queen as my son is just a king to show some barrier, there have been monarchs in LOTR of course and irl with mother and son ruling at the same time.

Now my king I haven’t had one king to stay yet…or one that people can respect.

As my conclusion I do BELIVE the BE has a bright future political wise as the EE will as well but more straight forward, as the BE political system is modern day built.

If the president is only here building roads and stuff, they shouldn’t be “president” more like “Responsible of #####” also you need to divide the jobs so that the trolls won’t just attack the all powerful.
