As you all might know, my town Hode has been one of the centres of trade in quite some time. The city have continuously  expanded along with the interest in the trading abilities on the server. I am very glad and thankful that i have been able to develop this city. I want to Thank all the traders continuously visiting, selling and buying in the various shops. Also thanks to all the Merchants taking interest in my city and assosiating with me. Without all of you I don’t think I would have had such success with it, so thank you all for embracing the City and making use of it.

So here comes my new great attempt to transform this city into something special. The reason is, and some might have noticed, that I am not so active anymore as have been, so that means I do not have alot of time to expand or manage the city as I had in the past.

I have been thinking about a solution for a while now and I think I might have a plan.

Basically the idea is that Hode is to become a functioning City and in this case a republic, because there is no higher power over the city.

Let me explain further;

first of all the end goal is to have a functioning council purely elected or appointed to govern the city. The council, consisting of patricians, will then maintain the city, make sure it’s safe from pirates or thieves and also handle other political matters.

The way things are decided is by vote. So say if there is a discussion to build a ship in the port and all do not agree, then they vote and the winning vote decides to build or not to build. or someone wants to change the name of the city, also by vote.

As of today Wogworld is the first Patrician of Hode. I will watch over the progress and decide with him if and when the next patrician can be appointed. All can apply of course, but take note it is a plus to actually be accociated with the city, or be known to be a very trustworthy person. Serious intentions are a must, since it is a hard job to run a city, which is the ultimate goal for the final council.

As for the council, new members can be elected and existing members can be banned, all controlled by vote. Also I would like to say this whole thing is just a rough sketch right now and might not be the final structure.

I am going to try out my concept in the coming time, maybe after the new year. I would like to see if anyone would have any interest in governing my city with me and with this I mean together with me, because I will have the same power as all the other Patricians.

If you have interest or if you have suggestions of improvement to this concept then please comment below, because the project will fail if the community has no interest. It is you guys who will in then end be the ones making the decisions anyway. 😛
