July 25, 2015 at 8:20 am #18294Solid the defender can already use redstone but yeah placing block would maybe be a good idea even if you made it limited to only certain blocks.
Solid I agree. If cannon damage is re enabled for siege, the defender should be allowed to place at least certain kinds of blocks.
Soft blocks!
July 25, 2015 at 12:08 pm #18310yes soft blocks?! why soft blocks….i think solid blocks should be the right block’s too use.or do you hate solid blocks?

July 25, 2015 at 4:22 pm #18316i think you should be able to place any blocks so when someone blows a hole thru the wall, u can patch up at least half of it while they are reloading the cannon, but there is the danger of them shooting you with the cannon while ur repairing

July 25, 2015 at 5:25 pm #18318well actually soft blocks (i’m speaking like a normal person right now so i go for soft blocks) should be the only block that you could place.”why?” becuase the defender could block his chest and the only thing the attacker would get is the possible armour.the defender has to close his chest before the raid if he dint do it thats his prob.its like the attacker forgot his armour and his in a siege so the defender would just let him get his armour and then finish the raid…..you get what i’m going for right ?

July 25, 2015 at 5:45 pm #18320Urgh.
This mechanic really needs to be changed, I sieged Charlee today, and the coward just sat in his basement. Protected by normal stone; as in, the first block you ever mine with a pick. And I couldn’t break it in a siege, and was told that even cannons wouldn’t damage it. Seriously, that’s just stupid!
July 26, 2015 at 9:37 am #18364I agree with @name_change if cannons were allowed the server wouldnt become that fun. If you think about it. How much obsidian would you need to make a fortified wall? Alot

As a builder of somewhat sophisticated architecture, I can’t afford the time or supplies to rebuild every time my work is sieged. For that reason, I build almost exclusively with strong blocks. I know many other builders do the same thing. With all of the work we have put into our builds, I think it is important to maintain the grief prevention measures we have built into our structures. Claims regenerating after sieges would accomplish this.
We should also consider the recent pvp abuses, and how this change could affect victims of harassment. Is it possible that players would be able to use this mechanic as a replacement for /back? As far as I am aware, kills with a cannon register as environmental damage (mobs don’t drop xp when killed by a cannon). If this is true, it means players can harass with impunity, since they will never be jailed.
I remember how much more fun pvp was when cannons broke hard blocks. If we can account for the potential drawbacks, I think a change to the cannon mechanics would be an excellent idea.
July 27, 2015 at 4:42 pm #18439i think its simple, cannons, should be able to blow in to claims based on a explosive damage/resistant scheme, like it use to.
cobble cannon balls can destroy dirt, tnt can break weak hardstones, diamond can punch through just about everything.
after the siege, the land regens.

and yes the land did use to regen, but when the world protect was updated the developers removed this feature, gods asked for it to be reintroduced and the request was ignored.
and i think i have the answer to the /back command abuse, we do it the same as /set home, you can only /back into land you have permission to. that way if you beat some one in a siege, you get one inventory of loot. vise versa if your defeated as an attacker you lose your stuff, this will stop players from returning over and over removing the chances of you ever defending your base.
also to add to it, remove the ability to tpa people in to a siege for about 100 block out side the claim, that way if they die they have to get back in again. rather then have some one just out side the claim tpa’in people in
July 28, 2015 at 12:03 am #18458could you give me a link to the guys of the “world protect” thing…i wanna try something XD
