selling logs at cove has always been a way to make money, but who actually does it?
i don’t know anybody who actually sells their logs at cove besides new players, perhaps. when i started playing on PC i didn’t even think of selling my logs because i thought it wasn’t worth throwing away all of my logs i worked hard cutting down for a very long time for so little money. i still haven’t sold a single stack of logs at cove to this day. i’m proposing we change the sell price to either $7 or $8 per stack. i myself believe 8 may be too much but think 7 is definitely reasonable. i also believe by doing this it would encourage a lot more people to sell their logs at cove, (new and experienced) to make money. i’m sure the price for selling logs has been $6 per stack for a very long time or even maybe has always been that much, IDK and i know some people don’t like change or may thing this may ruin the economy but give it some thought. i personally think this would be a good change. perhaps we could have a poll on this. thoughts?
also, forgive me if there has been a forum post on this subject before. i haven’t done my research.
i would also like to give an example. you would have to sell 2 double chests of logs to make $600. yes, 2 of these:
that is A LOT of wood
June 1, 2017 at 10:20 am #50482If you’d done any research whatsoever (and potentially even if you hadn’t), you would be more than aware that wood is an infinite resource… The ability to sell logs at the cove (regardless of price), therefore, enables players to have a theoretically infinite source of money… If they put the work in… What cheeses me off is the fact that, instead of taking advantage of the theoretically infinite amount of money (because it’s ‘not worth it’?… Okay then…) you decide that it should be even easier to get (again) a theoretically infinite amount of money.
My two cents.
June 1, 2017 at 1:27 pm #50518i’m only proposing this because almost nobody uses this method to make money regardless of the fact that it’s infinite. also, i’m only proposing a $1 increase per stack. with enough work you can make money from anything but this option sucks. i could literally say diamond is infinite because realistically it will never run out. up to 8 diamonds can spawn in a chunk if you take factors like fortune into play and that the fact that the world is probably made up of tens of thousands of chunks you’re literally never going to run out of diamonds. besides players selling items to each other (just passing money around) and not actually generating any into the economy what so ever there are only a few options of actually pulling money into the economy. donating, voting, the very small amounts of extra money added into the lottery (if you can even win one) and the option to sell logs, so i feel it’s very underused and most people just resort to selling items to one another for money but you’re not actually genuinely making any money or bringing any new money into the economy if you’re selling your items away to other people.
