- Read the server updates.
- As already answered, Eco is going to be tackled once other issues that arose with 1.9 have been solved.
June 5, 2016 at 7:01 pm #35765Hello brother, today I saw a pretty sweet pigman gold/xp farm tut and thought I would try and build it. The tut said to build this farm on top of the nether so the spawning would be higher. I didn’t know you could get above the nether so I thought if its possible that would be awesome because not falling in lava is a good thing.
When I asked in general chat how to get on top of the nether I found out it was banned as well as gold farms because of lag and such. Which makes sense.
My question is; Are there other farms that are banned and what they might be. I have seen that AFK machines are not allowed (but I don’t know what those are) or what falls into that category.
The reason I ask is I want to take my base to the next level and put in as much automation as possible for renewable items without breaking the rules or the server.
If a system has the ability to turn on and off does it make them ok? as opposed to systems that are running as long as the chunk is loaded.
Just trying to get a clear focus before I go crazy building and get in trouble and have to tear things apart.
Thanks in advance

Hey Blu
- we ban anyone that builds on top of the nether, this is a permanent instant ban, this area is not suppose to be built on and can cause chunk issues, we have had previous chunks being corrupted by selfish players building up on top of the nether, this is why it is a permanent ban.
- AFK machines are banned because these people;
- Are using them to farm XP or items from a grinder of whatever, this usually includes a machine that uses up precious ticks, im not a fan of someone using server resoruces 24/7 for their own personal gain when they are not even playing, as this removes the resources from others that are trying to enjoy the server.
- Someone is trying to rank up quicker without playing normally.
- Gold farms were a large part of the server until I disabled nether portals allowing pigmen through, this greatly improved PVP when we were back in 1.7-1.8 when Gapples were present. Hacking accusations dropped by 90%, and improved the market for gold and reduced server resource consumption, gold farms are still a no-no in my books, but its not as bad as it used to be.
- Automation is fine, a lot of people automate amazing farms with villagers, these are cool, as long as it wont globally effect the rest of the server or tip the balance into abusing, were very lenient, Its only after people abuse, and abuse and abuse and abuse that we needed to put in rules for specific farm types, if you have a question about a specific farming technique, then please don’t hesitate to ask, forums are usually better.
June 5, 2016 at 9:57 pm #35768Thanks for the info. I’m glad I asked and waited. I would have been super bummed to have built something this morning and been banned.
July 9, 2016 at 12:36 am #37388Say that during a raid I fire a cannon on board my ship into the wall of the person I’m raiding. If the land is claimed, will the cannon balls have no effect on the terrain/wall?

If you are in a /siege it will break the soft blocks listed on ./info siege, otherwise it wont do damage if its in claimed land.
If you fire a penetrating projectile (A diamond) this will penetrate the block, so you may be in with a change in killing someone inside their build! I plan on expanding this to have a projectile that can explode inside the build but not damage it 🙂
July 23, 2016 at 5:09 pm #38209This is probably a yes, but you never know unless you ask, right? Anyways, is it considered cheating if you pay someone to let you kill them, for say, ranking up from Sailor to Carpenter?
'Don't live in the past, because you have already been there.'-Someone I don't know the name of.
July 25, 2016 at 8:10 am #38259Its called Gaming stats and illegal yes (Idk if im suppose to answer)
1. Can I answer FAQ questions?
2. Will there be more ships added or any other movecraft features?
3. Do you like mudkips?
Lucky you will be missed 🙁
July 25, 2016 at 4:31 pm #38266Q: Are automatic fish farms allowed? Like where you would just click and you would eventually get fish and stuff? It’s not necessarily afk, since you do have to be clicking, but there have been arguments on these types of situations.
Q: I think this is a no, but are afk-able food farms allowed?

Its always good to ask! Yeah, that’s called Gaming stats to rank up.
1. Can I answer FAQ questions? 2. Will there be more ships added or any other movecraft features? 3. Do you like mudkips?
Yeah you can answer them Uni.
Yeah I want more ships, yeah I want different types of ships (Some flying ones) as for features im not a developer, so unless we get someone on board developing the plugin with the 6 million ideas I have for it, none of the features will get implemented.
mudkips are lame, im a mewtwo kind of guy.

I don’t see why auto fishing can be bad? I would need to talk to people to see the negatives of it, but it seems harmless if its just fish.
“afk-able food farms” This ones a no-no, Since you are going AFK to farm resources on a survival server is a little naughty, but it also takes up resources of the server when you aren’t playing, not very fair to other people on.

This response should definitely be put on the wiki next to the rules! New players will always want to know which farms are allowed and which aren’t.
July 26, 2016 at 11:52 am #38310Yuck mudkips, I’m much more a grass type, Turtwig, Bulbasaur, and Chicorita FTW!
Ironic
July 26, 2016 at 2:09 pm #38315hey godsy, with rod enchants u can have a higher chance of enchanted books (mending and frost walker) and saddles and everything non-fish-related. i just wanted to let u know about that, so u can decide if auto fish farms are legal or not. 🙂

April 3, 2017 at 7:02 pm #48884it’s probably no, but is schematics allowed? Not the printer mod just the one were you can see ghosted blocks.
Players could do better builds (prettier too), the main reason i don’t do nice builds that because it’s time consuming.
