There has been a few efforts at setting up a newbie haven already, Im not sure of any that are still open.

I think that CallieMav opened up this area of the map http://mc.piratemc.com:8123/?worldname=PirateCraft_1&mapname=surface&zoom=6&x=-642&y=64&z=-61 to newbies for resources.

Another option could be we have an area that only deckhands can enter near the spawn, nobody else, and have people able to “drop off” items they no longer need into it, hell there are already chests at these locations already, players could just empty unused items into the chests at /warp cove or /spawn for players to pick up, instead of incinerating them. Thats why there are chests at nearly all warp locations.

Ok, judging by the replies and the comments back that I have received, the initial idea sounds quite unnecessary, as many people (including GodsDead, thanks for replying by the way!) have detailed the ways that we are already helping new people on the server.

Due to this I feel that this plan is no longer needed, and I will now use the time to get back to work on my current building projects.

I would just like to say though, even if this is no longer going ahead, I want to encourage as many people as possible to be nice towards deckhands, and allow them to establish a base in peace so they can find stability before having to think about getting attacked.
