    Solid is a perfect example for why there should be NO sethomes if we decide to try this out.
    First we had the idea of no teleports or sethomes at all and then came a single sethome and then a second.

    I know that it will be hard and even most of the “older” players won’t like this since they said so and it would make the gameplay really hard(and people who payed money would loose their warps).
    Still i would like to at least try this out because a lot of great ideas would make more sense that way.
    For example gods roadidea.
    Because we have warps most players rarely leave their bases and if so most of them warps around.
    This leads to people that would depend on roads if there was no warp but since most new players i have seen(definetly not all) don’t know how to travel safely in minecraft we wouldn’t be able to set up the roads with a buildingcrew or even build something to what the roads may lead.
    Also ships make more sense that way but yeah ^^

    I’ve worked hard for my ranks, as have loads of other players, and the donators, all of whom have multiple sethomes. This is important, but I think the answer isn’t to abolish them, its to add longer tp cooldown timers, for example, a 5 minute cooldown timer, after every TP.

    Hrm maybe at least 20 minutes?
    Because that won’t let people warp more often than once every minecraftday.

    No, because then lazy people would literally just wait 20 minutes. For me at least, it takes me about 30 minutes by frig to get anywhere I need to be without tp, so I would much rather wait and save the 10 minutes.

    Ships are not the solution and neither is removing all the warps.

    I know “the minority” isn’t good enough for all of you to actually change your minds, but ships are laggy as hell. Not all of us have computers that can pilot a ship while hosting the LiveMap for navigation. I’ve noticed that, after several people have been moving a ship, the server tends to lag some. My client crashed three times in moving one ship 200 blocks last time I had to. World-wide sailing? Not much of an option for me.

    HOWEVER

    The east-west canal is still being worked on. Those of you that know me or that project know that I still do support ships and sailing. It’s an amazing feature. But WARPS do NOT need to be removed for ships to be pleasurable, or useful!  Already, ships are THE #1 way of transporting livestock. There’s a huge economy around that. Several shop owners offer horses, cows, sheep, etc for sale to be transported by ship.

    If you want to use ships more, throw in your efforts and skills into making MORE canals. A lot of the oceans are land-locked. Also, just because you remove all the warps doesn’t mean an economy will suddenly spring up. You have to MAKE it.

    So what do you want ships for?

    Fighting? Post on the forums, chat about it in-game: Host a ship battle. Set a time and date. Create raidable sea shacks.

    Economy? Again, you’ll need to make that. Set up a shop, make it known what you’ll offer to transport by ship.

    Your problem is with your own lack of action, not with teleporting.

    One last comment, the ./sethomes should be lowered this way we can have 3 homes and sailnto others, also after I loot someplace, the chances of getting into a fight are higher.

    I have one important thought.

     

    The PirateCraft Values.

     

    When I first came to this server, it seemed glorious. I thought everything would be done by ships, and it is still my dream to this day.

     

    What happened:

    Everyone warps around with no effort, killing at shops, raiding with /homes, and not making it very fun.

     

    My point:

    Either have an official ship battle tournament thingy like BOTM(Will post a thread) or take warps out altogether. This would fix the shop-killing to!

    This is a cool idea except if you live way up north, south, east or west, so it will be hard for people to sail without getting killed, getting their ship stolen, and what if deckhands can’t donate?? They are stuck until they can sail a dhow. Certain warps should be kept, certain ones CAN be erased, but keep a few in case if emergency.

    Hrm….Verihax does have a really god point i have to admit.
    In my mind i was still in those pvp-forumthreadthingie and didn’t think about why people would prefer warps over ships.
    @Dr_Solid About moving: use a ship so you can transport all your stuff on a ship with one tour.

    And even if deleting all warps may not be the soution i guess clinging to them won’t be the solution either.
    We need to mitovate ourselves and other players to trade,transport newbies and fight with ships.
    For the trading the brewery plugin is a great step forward since you need MANY chests to transport enough alcohol for a bar or tavern.
    Still the problem about the motivation is that most good builders want to build awesome stuff and show off while many new players search for set structures they can join and have close to no motivation.
    We have to crack this way of thinking up a little and show how nice,fun andprovitable it can be to trade and actually use all the plugins the server has.
    The real problem in the questions about annoying pvpguys,ships,big serverprojects and warps has nothin to do with deleting or banning any of this but with chainging our attitude towards a less offensive and more open minded and helpfull way of thinking.

    From what gottalovepunks said, those who live for from the warps, you guys are in a bad situation. So move! I did it. Claimed it all made it siege proof, even though people found me and tried to getnin, they didn’t. So risk it, build a base close to a warp. Then you can sail.

    Ive talked about this many, many, many times, But I’ll go over this again.

    Since people are used to teleporting, you can’t just pull that from them, That would be a 70-80% loss off all players.

    People are used to getting things right then and there, Fed up or just impossible to start, this incurs more issues like escaping from a PVP nutjob.

    If we were going to remove teleporting, it has to be ALL teleporting, TPA, /home, back, top, warps, everything, que the 300 messages sent to ME every 10 seconds.

    I have suggested we have a completely separate world that has all teleport disabled, a skyworld, To test this separately.

    if we could have it back how it was on V1, that would be awesome. A /spawn, no telpeort and you had a single sethome.

    /back was only available to vip.

    BAck in the day it was so much simpler. unfortunately as Gods quite rightly says. anything you change just pisses off the older player.

    If you have played here for a decent length of time, you have become accustomed to how things work. youve worked hard to utilise what we have. as soon as you change big things people lose interest and leave. We dont want to lose the long term players, theya re the backbone of the game.

    How about a separate world where there is no tp and we go there to get treasure from zombie villages (it gets regen after a week and the world is big but it only has a few villages so people fight for the goods)

    And we get to the other world bye ships 9if that’s possible)

    Bye the way what I mean bye zombie villages is a village full of “pirates” ,treasure and jailed villagers
    And a map to a secret treasure inside the village
