So I had been under the impression that cannons could break stone bricks during siege if you were able to fire at them and I it was this way for awhile, but in recent weeks people had been telling me that “no you can’t do that no I tested that it doesn’t work”. Well since I had, had this method not only used on my base but also I used it awhile back I of course with out a seconds delay accused everyone that they really didn’t test it and were just lazy or that they were using the wrong shot cannon whatever. Turns out I ordered a full course meal of crow and I had to eat it all. It didn’t work I was baffled because I knew for a fact that it had worked before. only to find out that it had been that you used to be able to break stone bricks and what not before but it was changed awhile back without me ever knowing. Now this leaves me to ask what the hell are cannons good for then. Lets be honest there aren’t any Assassins Creed IV ship battles gonna happen any time soon, so cannons are kinda practically pointless for ships really just a looks thing. Some people mount cannons on their base to try to kill invaders the only time I’ve been killed by a cannon is when Markus hit me in front of one lol and never have I killed anyone with one myself of course some people have had luck with them so I guess they’re useful. But really that’s it unless you wanna count the new ranked up gunner who builds his first cannon and shoots his friend ten times. Now I’m not sure if the reasons cannons breaking hard objects in siege was because they were deemed to OP but really if you made it back to cannons breaking Hard objects there would be a very good reason to use cannons and make them something useful and not just a massive paper weight. Going back to the OP part they’re cannons they’re massive metal tubes firing huge metal balls they’re gonna be powerful sometimes powerful things can bring balance. Of course if it’s not an OP thing and more of an actual problem that is really game breaking I understand I just think that they should at least be reconsidered for use in siege.

Wtf why do you refer to assassin creed?

You are a plank you don’t even recognise that they used these throughout history too.

And yes Cannons shouldn’t be able to break hard blocks which the reason for them not being able to is to stop them being op and sea battles do happen and if you want to be more commonly in these I recommend joining the BE or EE or some silly pirate crew which everyone hates and then see the sea faring uses of a cannon instead of it being one of your ‘boat tools’.

I too remember a time when cannons brock stone bricks, and it was one of the reasons I decided to heavily invest in obsidian walls and a bunker, only to find now, that a few stacks of stone bricks would have saved me the time and effort. It is a shame, because ultimately, if you can blow it up with tnt, you should be able to blow it up using a cannon. Stone bricks, realistically, wouldn’t be able to survive a cannon shot, and its sad that they do.

No I think they shouldn’t be able to break stone bricks crazy as they are a hard block if you think about it and really obsidian isn’t and obsidian is volcanic GLASS.

I think stone bricks has been introduced as a wide spread hard block because it’s easy to produce and to stop mods having many people moaning at them about being raided and such and such.

The stone brick I have found help full when I was a noob and in starter structures.

It is the first non-siegeable block one usually remembers and makes first so it may seem annoying to a veteran but for new people, it’s a life saver.

However, it is not right; in minecraft, tnt will blow it up, and yet, a cannon shot can’t?

That is silly, to say the least, and while it helps newer players, few new players are going to have a cannon pointed at them, unless they get too big for their boots. Their needs to be a way to defeat everyone; an unsiegable base is boring, to say the least.

I believe stone brick shouldn’t be unsiegable even though it could realistically stop a cannonball. Once. Then after another shot is when fortifications begin to crumble and weaken. They should make stone brick siegable using cannons but has to take a decent amount of explosion damage before breaking.  Many factions servers have things like this in place for obsidian to make sure all bases can eventually be raided, just with different difficulty. I say a decent amount of explosion damage because if someone just shot a cluster bomb it has the power of like five TNT. Maybe after three shots of a cluster bomb, a wall would start to break. This is fair because attackers can get into any base and defenders can easily shoot bows and attack people while they are taking time to load and aim cannons. I don’t know? That’s just my opinion.

Still I wouldn’t want the stone bricks to be removed from the unsiegeable list but not to be rude crazy but you know people like the outlaws who would do just that what you used as an example

When cannons broke blocks in siege t was not a normal blast radius it would made break 6 blocks in a wall now siege is just a who can wait the longest.    I think if te person just wants to hide inside his base then made some damage should be done to it that or else run away or fight the attackers off play the game like its ment to be played (watch the siege video)

Lucky you will be missed 🙁

First I’d like to speak in my defense against Palmerageddon I reference AC IV because it is probably one of the better known games with ship and cannon battles, this server directly quotes “Working Ships and Cannons” it’s name is PirateCraft so I believe I have the ability to reference AC and not be called a plank.

Second point once again going to Palmerageddon you really shouldn’t speak about obsidian as a glass well at least not the kind of glass you think of. Glass that it made in windows, water glasses, and generally those types of glassware and such are soda-lime glass and breaks relativity easily. Glass is and can be very strong like crazy strong not even to mention making glass stronger in forms such as the Prince Ruperts drop which has been applied to large scale glass-ware. Back to obsidian, obsidian is one of the toughest naturally forming materials that we don’t have to lay it’s bonds flat just to make it strong obsidian is tough shit, hence why native Americans used it for their tools which some that have been found still retain quite a sharp edge. Now imagine a 1m^3 solid block of obsidian it’s gonna take some umpf to get through that.

Crazy did a great way of stating that it won’t be OP to new players because not everyone is gonna be wheeling around cannons to door to door. Not to mention that if things went back don’t you think maybe the large factions would first try to raid each others  bases and get the loot they’ve had their eyes on since the start but haven’t been able to get?

hye if were gonna add this back it be like giving a perk to the attacker right? well if were gonna do that i think the defender should have a new perk too.how about when getting siege the defeder can still use his or her’s redstone? or still being able to place and break blocks? since cannons could now do that i think its only fair that the defender gets this….

Solid the defender can already use redstone but yeah placing block would maybe be a good idea even if you made it limited to only certain blocks.

Solid I agree. If cannon damage is re enabled for siege, the defender should be allowed to place at least certain kinds of blocks.

if im right in thinking, and dont quote me on this.
i believe the reason that cannon damage was turned off was due to the fact that our buildings dont repair them selves after a siege.

back in the good old days, i remember shooting my way into a fair few bases, raiding them then after the base would repair its self, so the only thing a player would lose would be his vault items, if he couldn’t defend it well enough.

nower days since this feature is now gone, it would be rather unfair to not only loot everything they have but to leave there base in a hole fill mess, it would ruin the server both look wise and player wise.

this is a feature id more then anything would love to see return. since i get so tired of having to replace dirt after a siege, when who ever im attacking tries to dig there way to me.

I am probably gonna get hate for saying this but I personally think that it would be a little to OP I mean the thing that I like about PirateCraft is the fact that it is different from normal PVP servers with factions it is more hostile and you could be raided at any second and if cannons were able to blow up stuff then I think people would rage quit and I know that people (like raiders) would become a whole lot more common and the very idea of empires on this server would just crumble as people would just become animals raiding people for no reason other than loot because they can and it would just be so simple to get a wall down and just loot.

also I think that the difference with PirateCraft and normal PVP server would become a whole lot more slim.

    just an opinion…
