Oh shit all paths are going to go! https://map.piratemc.com/?worldname=PirateCraft_1&mapname=surface&zoom=3&x=-1843&y=64&z=20 https://map.piratemc.com/?worldname=PirateCraft_1&mapname=surface&zoom=3&x=112&y=64&z=-5917 https://map.piratemc.com/?worldname=PirateCraft_1&mapname=surface&zoom=2&x=-3547&y=64&z=-3237 There are some pretty impressive road networks around the server that are simply too massive to claim. It would be a shame to see them go. Would it at all be possible to set this world regen to ignore certain block types, such as path blocks? Could this be requested from the dev as part of option 3? Would be a shame to see them all go, especially given their size.
Make it an event to re-make them, looks like these are just made with a shovel.
to my knowledge, mojang did alter the terrain generation algorithm throughout the years. not saying itll drastically change the terrain, but we may notice some straight edges where claims get pasted back in. nothing a little work and a few stacks of dirt and stone cant fix I think. as for the roads, I feel like some of them could be re-done. as in, id like to see them re-done to be more smooth and more well kept. theres creeper holes all over the place, and a lot of areas could desperately use some refreshed terrain. I am willing to offer my time and resources to helping rebuild some of the path ways that will be lost, as well as helping to smooth out any terrain edges that don’t quite match up. even though it will be the same seed, opening a world with a seed from 1.5 will change if you opening it in later versions. I think YT user AntVenom made a video on this. he used a seed generated from an earlier version, and recorded how much the land changed when he opened worlds of the same seeds in different updates. the general layout stayed the same. biomes mostly were the same, only real changes were some terrain generation. it smoothed out a little here and there. TL;DR: ill help fix whatever shit happens to break.
Way ahead of you, I already spawned the world as 1.13 fresh with the same seed and compared the cove and spawn, where I have done dramatic custom terrain to really see the difference.
There will be two worlds, so we can just check to see how it comes out, why do people never consider testing will ever be an option?
It copies from one world to another world, it WILL NOT overwrite the current one.
My third method is legit safer than the other two as it keeps the old world as it is too.
