I think option 3 would be great. The current world has accumulated a lot of clutter over the years, particularly the oceans and spawn area. I had a few questions/issues though:

1. Would it be possible to filter out some of the abandoned claims to free up land for new and existing players? (Old deckie bases, bases of banned players etc?)

2. I can see an issue arising where players might have terraformed an area near their base but not within a claim (or someone else might have in the past) that reverts to its old state. I realise this comes under claimed land, but its often unclear what is original terrain, while a house is quite obvious. But, maybe this is a just a price some will have to pay for the new world?
