The default avatar is pulled from your username to a minecraft skin, but if you change your minecraft username it wont update here.

What you can do is upload your own image to https://piratemc.com/members/InventorJohn/profile/change-avatar/

Which it looks like you have already done and its not displaying it on the fourms? So you found a bug by the looks of things!
