I got the diamonds from the castle on the mountain near my base.  Then went mining. And plus, whenever I mine, I always clear out some areas around the ore vein because there is usually more ores nearby. I got about 15 from mining. I didn’t put all of the ones I raided back into my chest in case I need to make more pickaxes.
