    Yeah a ship vs ship game would be fun, perhaps also with a larger teams also for a larger ship or more teams?

    Perhaps a cannon-shoot-out arcade style game, which people could just play whilst waiting for a game, where you have to hit as many targets in a certain amount of time with a cannon and the higher the score you get, the better the prize could be that you earn and can use within the piratecraft game.

    Also a master builder game? like people make quick pirate themed builds in a certain amount of time, not only would this display people’s imagination and sharing of ideas of people under pressure, but could also help people practice in what people do and do not like, and help them in build competitions.

    What about another version of the ship vs ship battles, but you instead get given a certain amount of materials (probably enough to build a large schooner) and battle using what you (and possibly your team) have built. Giving birth to perhaps innovative designs of ships, and possibly funny ships (like people who wont take it seriously :D) for a bit of a laugh and a challenge.

    I don’t know but maybe a walk the plank game? Where you have to possibly stand on a plank perhaps which is gradually getting smaller and smaller, or you have to go to certain parts of the plank or jump off the right one (or wrong one) before the last person. To which the results whether or who died or not are not broadcasted, until the round is up to stop people choosing the right one, perhaps with a variety of different pirate and piratecraft themed questions which each plank represents a correct or incorrect answer? just a brain storm this one really.

    Perhaps also a game where you have to brew a certain brew as quickly as you can, this game is sped up though and the time, so you can get it right, but remember the ingredients and the right ageing barrel. There should be an easy, medium and hard games for all people, for those who are new to it brewing wheat beer, to those who brew blind rage.

    Let’s do some briefing: What has been said in this topic for now. Pros & Cons with /bottle.

     

    Pros:

    1. Helps ranking up
    2. Can store xp for players
    3. XP can be “an item” which can be traded

    Cons:

    1. Can be “abused” if the “double xp plugin” are added to the server
    2. Are making the survival easier for players
    3. Can be used in pvp to help mending gear/armor (makes a battle last longer – seems to be a con to me)
    4. Removing the /bottle will make an xp bottle give 1-7 exp pr bottle, which in average makes each bottle drop 4,75 times less exp – rich players will lose hard obtained exp.
    5. “Removing /bottle will make the gap between rich and poor even bigger”

    Let’s say we want to keep the /bottle, the solution to “con 1.” could be not adding the “double xp plugin,” or somehow make the xp go straight into the xpbar. The solution to “con 2.” could be charging 30-40 exp instead of 20 each bottle – which also are the solution to “con 4.” people won’t lose exp. “Con 3” seems hard to fix – maybe make the exp go straight into the bar? won’t mend armor or tools. “Con 5” isn’t a problem if you ask me, it will solve itself over time.

    Now let’s say we want to remove the /bottle plugin. We will then have to live without the pros. To live without “pro 1.” we could (as godsdead already suggested) remove or decrease the amount of exp you need to rankup. To live without “pro 2.” we could simply just live without it lol, it’s not a big problem if you ask me. what do we say when a new player joins the server and ask for goods? “It’s a survival server mate, you can’t just get free goods out of nothing.” “pro 3” could for sure be fixed with some other plugin, if needed.

    After briefly reading most peoples posts, it seems that having /bottled xp is too OP.

    BUT the only other way of getting it would be using a cleric villager. If you have a villager farm (a few players have decent ones) you are considered OP. This would mean xp is more exclusive and therefore more expensive. so even less people would be able to use it.

    To get xp from clerics isn’t cheap either. its something like 5-9 gold ingot for 1 bottle (correct me if I’m wrong ( Dan I know u have an OP 1.7 cleric for CHEAP AF)) this is expensive too.

    At least when /bottle is a thing, one can fend for them selves and buy their own xp and a good price.

    The problem with pvp in 1.9 is like the problem with 1.8 ( its stopped being about skill)

    in 1.8 you can carry tones of Gapples and many sets *cough* secon and lew *cough*

    Now with 1.9, although hits are harder, one can now carry LOADS of xp and crapples. This effectively means having an infinite set .

    Skill can only be based on having equal kits for pvp now.

    I may seem narrow minded and lazy for not giving a good read of all the posts ( there’s 4 pages, I mean come on! ) but I still don’t see the benift of losing xp over keeping it.

    yes, there are faults with both choices. How ever it still seems that keeping is the best bet.

    Anyway, this is down to what the majority thinks.

    But what ever you vote, think it through 😀

    Crazy I think you are forgetting that there are thousands os spawners across the Piratecraft world and not just the guardian or blaze farms you are fixated on. Now of course they don’t have access to one instantly but then I haven’t seen any deckhands making god armour inter first day. Regular overworked spawners are so abundant (especially with the world border increase) that it is nigh on impossible for someone searching hard to not find a single, double or triple spawner.

    In the unlikely scenario that every single spawner in the newly expanded map is taken, the End still offers players the ability to create an XP farm from thin air. Or using the crew plugin, ask a crew mate to borrow theirs or use the crew’s itself.

    Stop raising an issue that does not pragmatically exist!

    Also, to clarify, I do not own an XP farm! I buy all my XP and its a feature I liked for a longtime, being able to make it a commodity. However, with 1.9 mechanics it has outlived its time, and should be removed.

    as browe said, and quoted from me, there is little to no risk with death. whats to stop someone from bottling thwir exp and jumping off a bridge? put all their items in a chest and jump. what do you lose? nothing. at all. except another death on your /stats. youre all thinking of short term changes. and youre all scared of change itself. everyone seems to think it is impossible to rank w/o exp bottles… know what? I got from lvl 1 to 80 on my own using a single zombie spawner. not impossible. difficult and annoying yes. impossible? (besides, if anyone read any of godsy’s replies, youd see he said he was considering changing the exp requirement for ranking) not at all. wanna know something? in vanilla, there is no /bottle. wanted to enchant? had to get exp like normal. getting rid of /bottle will dramatically change gameplay, making it more challenging. I think the challenge would be fun. you all want the game to be too easy; not everything can be handed to you on a silver platter.

    People need to be more open minded, with the possible introduction of XP boosts, it would be easier for people to make a second god set instead of relying on XP bottles to mend.

    Potentially, XP bottles could be made a voting reward. Players can help themselves and the server!

    I also think that lots of people are voting to keep to bottling because it just makes things harder. This is a PVP and PVE server, surviving should be part of the fun! To quote Cysteen in our recent convo: “As a Captain with /back, there is nothing stopping me bottling my XP, and jumping off a bridge!”

BUT, their supplies will eventually get diminished. for PvP, it makes fights last 30 minutes or more, because all we have to do is smash a stack of bottles and we have a fully repaired set. if we don’t have the exp to waste, itll mean the vet players need to think twice about just wasting exp on pointless fights. once the exp supply is diminished, itll make pvp a bit more balanced vs players that have fewer resources and the vet players that have resources to piss away at their pleasure. keeping the plugin just makes it easy to play and rank up. ranking with exp already is difficult (I remember when I had to get to 80 lvls for my first gunner rank, was horrible), but it shouldn’t be too easy… as a suggestion to compensate could be the exp requirement get a little tweaking, but that is another topic. imo, getting rid of the plugin will eventually make it harder for the vet pvpers to just stay alive forever in pvp.

    Game on! So right, I made some suggestions for other things we could do, like keeping the plugin for lower ranks but also tweaking it a bit, so they dont get 19 our of every 20 xp per bottle, I was thinking about halving it.

    Most people arnt looking past 5 mins in game from these replies Ive seen, they have to think about the long game over time.

    Godsy, In my opinion removing the bottle plugin will make the line between rich and poor players even bigger. The well established players that have a ton of exp will have a huge advantage and make a ton of money.

    This was covered in game, same thing for Gapples. Yes they will have stock, but it stops the stock from growing. It wont be used as much as its limited stock too, and it stops new players from getting OP with it. All positives to remove /bottle, It was pre-1.9 when you couldn’t mend Armour with something as stupid as XP (What a ludicrous mechanic)
