A pirates got to have a code so this is a test to maybe get some generally accepted guidelines. This will be entirely player based staff will not necessarily accept nor force these guidelines.

This honor code will hopefully get people to return named weapons to the original owner and is thought as a test to see if the player base is capable of agreeing and following a code of honor.

Returning named weapons (Swords, Bows mainly) to their rightful owner will gain you a honor point and place the owner as in your debt. You are not forced to return the weapon, keeping it wont change anything regarding your honor. But if you are in debt to a player, kill him and not return his weapon you lose honor.

This might be a bit confusing so lets show this with an example:
Markusi kills Godsdude and gives Godsdude his sword back. Godsdude either posts a thank you note here or via pm to Markusi as proof. Markusi now gains 1 honor point and Godsdude is placed as in debt to Marksui.

Godsdude later takes revenge and now has 2 possibilities.
a.) He returns Markusi`s sword and he is no longer in debt to him, gaining an honor point.

b.) He doesn’t abide to the code losing 5 honor points and staying in debt to Markusi.

What it comes down to is you either not participate in this and everything’s fine or you do join in by accepting a sword back but in return for joining you should return a sword to the one who returned it to you. Meaning you will only gain from this code.

People with a lot of honor points could be seen as honorable and favored by the community and will get a reward in form from items (NOT from staff members but players who donate something)

I don’t think we would have any negative effect by trying this out, who knows if it works maybe we could add more guidelines. There are some rules though:

    1. Returning weapons to friends, allies and relatives does not reward honor points. (Or people will just get infinite honor points)

    2. Lets keep it to named items only for now since its easier to track. (Diamond Sword could be anyone’s)

If anything should be unclear please just ask and if some known players/crews could support this that would be great.

This just sounds stupid. Why should any pirate care about what his targets think of him? I would be losing valuables if I gave some of my stuff back to it’s original owner…that goes against what I like to do.

It’s a cool idea, but it sounds a bit confusing.  How do we keep track of points?

i like the system but….its too complicated.
The reason of a honorcode is to be seen honorable by other players…or trustworthy or whatever.

Why should i need such a system to know about the honor of….markusi13?…i know that he is a lazy advertiser who just hangs around on the server 😉 (JK markus is awesome)
Some system like this would make sense in NPC-interaction so villagers can guess if you are honorable…still….i think it makes more sense to trust some people and not others for the way they act generally and not due to a formula or system.

I do not like this. I make 50% of my money off stolen valuable, and bounties. Here’s how a lot of lives go for a pirate

    Kill.

    Sell loot.

    Kill.

    Sell loot.

    Repeat.

Well, not exactly but itclose to a true pirate.

Soo… it’s going to be hard to convince anyone to give your stuff back @Elo. Just sayin.
On a side note, you should probably check your vault.

    1. Find Weapon. Preferably sharp.

    2. Stab person/thing with weapon.

    3. Loot

    4. Run

    5. Hide

    6. Be happy

    7. Repeat

Interesting idea elo but it really only benefits you. I see right through this post and can tell you are feeling threatened and don’t want to lose your phoenixpirate weapons. This system would only benefit you and quite frankly it would be hard to maintain plus almost everyone sees looted gear was spoils of war.

I agree with ani -_- also if a noob kills at market with a stolen named sword, and u kill the noob, who would u give the sword to? And u know ppl won’t follow this rule. I wouldn’t and I don’t think it’s “piratey” if ppl do, because named weapons are trophies of battles with known players, or making them fall into traps XD

Wow that is a mean accusation I have often returned weapons to the people I killed yes sometimes because it only had Sharpness/Power III or IV and I didnt want to use them.

But I came up with this idea because I got asked by someone if I would return his weapons because they had sentimental value.

If you believe this would only benefit me you probably misunderstood something because to start this thing of you accept a weapon BACK. Meaning you only are in debt to someone if you accept a weapon YOU lost. From there on its basically trading your weapons for theirs IF they agree.
